Zeppet created the animal masks and special makeup for the 2026 new installment of Folktale Courtroom (昔話法廷), a drama broadcast on NHK E-tele. The series stages modern court trials based on events from classic folktales. This new production is titled Shiga — “The Heavenly Hagoromo” Trial (滋賀・「天女の羽衣」裁判).
This series has been broadcast irregularly since 2015 and is a beloved program that received the “International Children’s Jury Award” at the German international children’s media festival Prix Jeunesse 2016. This new installment marks the first new production in five years.
For Shiga — “The Heavenly Hagoromo” Trial, Zeppet was responsible for the swan mask worn by a character in the drama, as well as the special makeup depicting wounds on the character Hikobee, played by actor Kenta Kiritani.
